How can i help my cat until i get to a vet?

My cat was bitten by a poisonous snake yesterday. he has severe swelling of his face and is in pain. i dont have a regular vet and unless your a patient no one will see him until after fourth of July. is there anything i can do to help him until i can see a vet?
